ABSTRACT
Marriage as a social and biological institution plays an important role in family formation, reproductive health, and generational regeneration. In the modern era, the phenomenon of late marriage and early marriage presents distinct challenges that affect health, family harmony, as well as social and economic development. This study uses a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach and content analysis technique to examine the dynamics, issues, and implications of late marriage from psychological, social, medical, and legal perspectives. The findings indicate that late marriage carries risks related to reproductive health, difficulties in social support, and challenges in fulfilling household roles that can disrupt family harmony. Conversely, early marriage poses risks of health complications for mothers and children, as well as contributes to poverty and a decline in educational quality. Therefore, strict regulation of the minimum marriage age and comprehensive public education are urgent needs to mitigate these negative impacts and realize prosperous families that contribute to sustainable national development.
